Cookie policy.

This page is the long form of the short banner you saw on your first visit. We use very few cookies, and we have tried to describe each one plainly.

What is a cookie, and why does this site mention them?

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to save. Some are necessary for the site to function at all (for example, to keep a form submission secure), while others are optional and exist to help us understand how visitors use the site. Malaysian law requires us to tell you which we use, why, and to give you a clear choice about the optional ones.

What we use, exactly

Strictly necessary

  • PHPSESSID — a session identifier that allows the contact form to validate a security token. Lifetime: until you close the browser. Without this, the form cannot be submitted.
  • _halc_consent_v1 — a small entry in your browser's local storage that remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies. Lifetime: 12 months from your last visit.

Optional analytics

We do not currently run any third-party analytics on this site. If we add light, privacy-respecting analytics in future, we will list them in this section before they go live, and they will only run after you have accepted optional cookies in the banner.

Marketing

We do not run marketing or advertising cookies on this site. There are no Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn tracking pixels.

How to change your decision

You can re-open the cookie panel at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. You can also clear cookies and local storage from your browser's privacy settings; the banner will then appear on your next visit.

What we use the form session for

When you submit the contact form, a server-side session is created so that we can verify a CSRF token (a small random value held in your session and on the form). This is what makes the difference between a real submission from your browser and an automated one. The session is closed as soon as the form is processed and is not used for tracking.
