Swedish Relaxation Practitioner.

Our most popular stream, and the one we recommend for almost every adult considering massage as a working trade. Sixteen weeks, 120 supervised hours, and a graduated route into a sixty- and ninety-minute full-body sequence.

What we cover

Four blocks of four weeks. Each ends in a paired assessment.

Block one · The hands

Stroke vocabulary: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement, vibration. Body mechanics for the practitioner. Linen, draping and consent rehearsal.

Block two · The body

Anatomical landmarks, surface-level palpation, and a region-by-region build of the sixty-minute sequence. Wall-chart anatomy alongside the table.

Block three · The conversation

Intake conversations, contraindications you must know, when to refer, and the language of a closing note. Mock client mornings begin in this block.

Block four · The room

Full ninety-minute sequences on visiting subjects from the Academy register, under direct trainer supervision. Final assessment in week 16.

After the stream

What graduates do next.

  • About a third begin private appointments at home or in a rented hour at a partner practice.
  • About a quarter take an employed lead-therapist role at a hotel or destination spa, often through introductions to the Academy panel.
  • About a fifth continue immediately into the Deep Tissue & Clinical Touch stream.
  • The remainder use the certification as a sideline alongside a primary career: in coaching, fitness, hospitality or healthcare-adjacent work.
Common questions

Things prospective Swedish students ask.

I am in my fifties. Is that an obstacle?
Not at all. Our oldest current student is 62. The body mechanics block is precisely about teaching you to work without injuring yourself, regardless of decade.
How fit do I need to be?
Reasonably fit. You will spend ninety-minute blocks standing and applying pressure with your forearms and hands. We will discuss this on the call; nothing surprising will be required.
What is included in the fee?
Tuition, supervised practice, the Academy uniform tunic, two sets of practice linens, the printed logbook, anatomy reference handouts, and the graduation evening.
Can I retake an assessment?
Yes, once. If a paired assessment is not passed, your trainer will agree a remediation plan with you and you may retake it the following week.
Is the stream available in evenings?
Not currently. The Saturday clinic and weekday mornings are necessary for paired practice. We are exploring an evening pace for graduates of an equivalent foundation; please ask.
