Deep Tissue & Clinical Touch.

An advanced stream for practitioners who want to work with clients carrying long-standing tension, postural patterns, or workload-related complaints. We are conservative on what counts as clinical, and ambitious on what good touch can do within that boundary.

Curriculum

Five blocks. Each builds on the last.

Block A · Tissue layers

Skin, superficial fascia, muscle, deep fascia, bone landmarks. Working through layers, not at them.

Block B · Trigger points

Identification, ischaemic compression, cross-fibre work, and the careful art of telling a client what is happening as it happens.

Block C · Postural reading

Static and dynamic postural reading, with a clear rule for the boundary between observation and diagnosis.

Block D · The clinical room

Ten observation hours at our partner physio practice, plus a structured framework for working with referred clients.

A clear boundary

What this stream is — and what it is not.

We say this twice on every page so it is unmistakable. Deep tissue is a touch modality. It is not physiotherapy and it is not medicine.

  • You will leave able to work confidently with adult clients who present with tension, soreness and workload-related discomfort.
  • You will not leave qualified to diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition. The stream teaches you to identify when an appointment is not yours and to refer with grace.
  • You will leave able to write a clean closing note that any GP, physio or chiropractor can read at a glance.
  • You will leave able to refuse, kindly, the appointments you should not take. We rehearse this language until it is unflappable.
